Connecting Southern Africa to Global Markets

The Walvis Bay Corridors form a strategic network of trade and transport routes linking the Port of Walvis Bay in Namibia to regional and international markets across Southern, Central, and East Africa. Managed and promoted by the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG), these corridors play a vital role in facilitating efficient, secure, and cost-effective movement of goods, services, and people.

Through coordinated infrastructure development, policy harmonisation, stakeholder collaboration, and corridor performance monitoring, WBCG ensures that the corridors remain competitive, reliable, and responsive to regional trade needs.

Overview of the Walvis Bay Corridors

The corridor network provides landlocked SADC and COMESA countries with direct access to the Atlantic Ocean via Namibia’s modern port and transport infrastructure. The corridors support multiple cargo types, including containerised cargo, bulk commodities, abnormal loads, vehicles, fuel, and project cargo.
