Ports
Namibia’s ports play a central role in positioning the country as a strategic maritime gateway to Southern Africa and the broader SADC region.
Through the Walvis Bay Corridors, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) works closely with port authorities, government institutions, and private-sector partners to promote efficient port operations, seamless hinterland connectivity, and competitive trade routes.
Namibia’s ports provide reliable access to global markets while serving as critical entry and exit points for cargo destined for land-linked countries in the region.
Benefits of Our Ports
Port–Corridor Integration
WBCG’s mandate extends beyond ports to the full logistics chain.
Key interventions include:
Advocacy for trade facilitation and harmonised procedures
Promotion of intermodal transport solutions
Stakeholder coordination across ports, borders, and inland terminals
Data-driven monitoring of corridor performance
Driving Regional Trade
Namibia’s ports are critical enablers of regional integration, economic growth, and supply chain resilience.
Through strong partnerships with Namibian Ports Authority (Namport) and regional stakeholders, WBCG continues to position Walvis Bay and Lüderitz as preferred ports of choice for Southern Africa.
