Edward Shivute serves as the Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG), providing strategic leadership and oversight across the organisation’s corridor management, trade facilitation, logistics development, and wellness programmes. In this dual role, he ensures continuity of leadership while driving the effective implementation of WBCG’s mandate to enhance regional connectivity, corridor efficiency, and inclusive development across the Walvis Bay Corridors.

As Acting CEO, Edward is responsible for guiding organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement, and institutional performance. He works closely with the Board, government ministries, development partners, corridor institutions, and private-sector stakeholders to strengthen WBCG’s role as a trusted corridor management institution at national, regional, and continental levels. His leadership focuses on operational excellence, policy alignment, and sustainable growth of corridor activities.

In his substantive role as Project Manager for WBCG Wellness Services, Edward leads one of the organisation’s flagship programmes, which integrates health and wellness interventions into transport and logistics corridors. He oversees the planning, implementation, and monitoring of corridor-based wellness services targeting mobile and key populations, including truck drivers, border communities, and logistics workers. His work has been instrumental in expanding access to HIV, TB, and broader wellness services along major trade routes in Namibia and the SADC region.

Edward manages partnerships with government health authorities, international development agencies, and civil society organisations to ensure effective service delivery, compliance with donor requirements, and alignment with national and regional health strategies. He also supports the integration of wellness services into infrastructure and logistics projects, reinforcing WBCG’s holistic approach to corridor development.

Through his combined leadership roles, Edward Shivute contributes to strengthening WBCG’s institutional credibility, advancing public–private collaboration, and ensuring that economic growth along the Walvis Bay Corridors is inclusive, sustainable, and people-centred.
