The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) was established in 2000, to drive business development initiatives that increase cargo volumes through the Port of Walvis Bay and the Port of Lüderitz, and along their associated corridors.

Jonas Sheelongo is an experienced public sector leader with deep expertise in transport policy, infrastructure development, and logistics facilitation. He serves as Executive Director at the Ministry of Works and Transport of Namibia, where he helps shape national transport strategies and oversees key initiatives that enhance cross‑border mobility, infrastructure planning, and regulatory frameworks.

Before his current appointment, Jonas served as Deputy Executive Director (Transport) in the same ministry, contributing to impactful policy implementation and the advancement of national transport priorities. His work fosters close collaboration with government agencies, regional partners, and corridor stakeholders to improve Namibia’s connectivity and integration within the Southern African transport ecosystem.
