COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING OFFICER

The Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) is a Public-Private Partnership focusing on promoting the Ports of Walvis Bay and Lüderitz as the preferred trade route for imports and exports for Southern Africa.
In order for us to support our business development drive at the WBCG, we require the services of a dynamic and energetic individual to take up the challenge of COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING OFFICER, responsible for coordinating and implementing the activities listed in the corporate marketing and communications plan.

Location: Head Office – Windhoek

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Facilitating information exchange with all stakeholders
  • Content generation for use in various communication mediums.
  • Compilation of the electronic newsletter and other WBCG publications.
  • Assist in the compilation and distribution of all publications and marketing materials required.
  • Maintainance of the WBCG website and other identied social mediums.
  • Developing media content – ensure that media releases and other documentation are available to the media timeously and on an ad hoc basis.
  • Media liaising, monitoring, and evaluation.
  • Producing creative communication materials for use in media campaigns.
  • Ensure up-to-date marketing information and materials at the WBCG ofces, stakeholders, exhibitions, information sessions and ad-hoc events.
  • Stakeholder relationship-building activities
  • Organise and coordinate all marketing and brand-related events – locally, regionally and internationally.
  • Coordinate and implement marketing campaigns.
  • Ensure maximum exposure and positive brand development of the WBCG locally, within the region and internationally.
  • Collect information and do research to improve marketing programmes and support to Business Development Managers.
  • Administer Management meeting minutes and agenda.

REQUIREMENTS

Minimum education and professional requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing or any other equivalent relevant qualication from a recognised educational institution.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in the eld of journalism, public relations or marketing.
  • Superior writing, editing, and presentation skills.
  • Excellent computer skills (DTP experience is an added bonus).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to multi-task and set priorities.
  • Manage time efciently and deliver communications within assigned deadlines.
  • Code 08 drivers licence.
