The Walvis Bay Corridor Group in collaboration with its strategic partners is implementing an HIV/AIDS and an Employee Wellness Project in Namibia. The project aims at reaching various key populations and other vulnerable groups with high impact health services to support the programmes of the Ministry of Health and Social Services.

Through its broad membership and diverse range of stakeholders, it offers a platform that facilitates and supports the fight against HIV/AIDS and the provision of general wellness interventions along its transport corridors. By doing so it reaches a wide, traditionally and generally perceived high HIV and AIDS mobile group within the transport sector of Namibia. The WBCG is hereby seeking to appoint a qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team.

  • Responsible for managing the overall clinical and treatment component of the WBCG Wellness Service interventions in their respective areas.
  • Administer Comprehensive treatment, screening, and counseling services for clients as per the national standards, guidelines, and protocols of the Ministry of Health and Social Services;
  • Regularly Monitor and control medical records, pharmaceuticals, and other systems within the scope of the project;
  • Responsible for providing nursing care and support services to all project clients presenting for HIV testing, treatment, care, and support services.
  • Participate in HIV outreach Testing Services (HTS) as planned with the project donors.
  • Screen, Diagnose and Evaluate Pre-ART patients for eligibility and initiate those eligible for ART as per national guidelines.
  • Maintain medical records and ­les in a thorough and accurate professional manner.
  • Conduct case management interventions and ensure a continuum of care for all clients.
  • Administer appropriate Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) and Post Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) to all eligible clients.
  • Request appropriate laboratory and clinical investigations, interpret results, and provide appropriate medical care.


Minimum Education and Professional Requirements:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant Degree/ Diploma in Nursing or Midwifery.
  • Must be a Registered nurse (registered with the Nursing Council of Namibia).
  • MoHSS Accreditation for HIV Rapid Testing and Counseling is an advantage.
  • Certificates in NIMART/ HIV/AIDS/TB/PMTCT/STI management with 2 years’ experience will be a distinct advantage.
  • At least five (5) years of clinical experience and/or experience in the field of HIV/AIDS.
  • Must be able to work independently and under pressure, be prepared to work overtime and must be willing to travel extensively.
  • Must be a Namibian citizen preferably based in Otjiwarongo .
  • Fluent in English
  • Must have good knowledge of the policies and guidelines of the Namibian national response on HIV/AIDS.
  • Strong computer skills with functional working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, Oral and written fluency in English, including good report writing skills.
  • Ability to maintain professional confidentiality all time.
