WBCG concludes Wellness and Road Safety Festive Season Campaign

On 24 December 2025, the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG), in partnership with the MVA Fund of Namibia and Namibian Police Force (NAMPOL) in the Khomas Region, successfully concluded its festive season health and wellness awareness campaign for truck drivers and transport workers. The campaign was conducted on 18 and 19 December 2025 at the Swakopmund Roadblock, followed by activations on 23 and 24 December 2025 at the Okapuka Roadblock in Windhoek.

The initiative was part of a broader health and wellness campaign with a dedicated focus on road safety, a critical priority during the high-traffic festive season. By integrating preventative healthcare with responsible road use, the activation aimed to enhance driver wellbeing and ensure the continued safety and efficiency of Namibia’s transport corridors.

During the four-day event, the WBCG mobile wellness team provided a comprehensive package of free health services, including:

Vision testing

BMI assessments

Glucose and cholesterol screenings

HIV Testing Services (HTS) and counselling

Over 400 road users were reached through direct screenings and awareness sessions. To further promote public health, the team distributed condoms and informational leaflets covering various safety and wellness topics.

We firmly believe that healthy truck drivers are essential to safer and more efficient corridors. WBCG extends its sincere appreciation to all drivers and road users who took time during their journeys to prioritise their health. The campaign underscores the vital link between a driver’s physical condition and their performance on the road.
