On 15 and 16 July, as part of the Walvis Bay Corridor Group’s (WBCG) ongoing stakeholder engagement efforts, Mr. James Kaposa, WBCG’s Business Development Manager for Zambia and the Malawi market, met with key industry stakeholders to promote the Walvis Bay Corridors as Malawi’s preferred trade route.
The engagements included meetings with Mr. Parakesh Gheidia, General Manager of Paramount Holdings Ltd., a major importer and distributor of medical equipment and fertilisers, and Mr. Innocent Mmanga, Shipping Manager for Limbe Leaf Tobacco, one of Malawi’s leading tobacco exporters.
The discussions focused on building and strengthening existing partnerships, promoting the efficiency and competitiveness of the Walvis Bay Corridors, and exploring opportunities to enhance regional trade, logistics, and market access for Malawi’s importers and exporters to the global markets.
Malawi offers many export opportunities to the Corridor as they export huge volumes of agriculture products like tea. tobacco, cotton, groundnuts and macadamia nuts into Europe.
