Advancing Corridor Excellence and Regional Trade Connectivity

The year 2026 marks a period of renewed momentum and strategic advancement for the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG) as we build on the strong foundation established during our milestone 25th Anniversary celebrations in 2025. Over the past quarter century, the WBCG has grown into one of Africa’s leading Corridor Management Institutions, driven by an unwavering commitment to strengthening the transport and logistics sector through our distinctive Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. Through this collaborative approach, the WBCG continues to play a pivotal role in positioning Namibia as the preferred trade route to and from Southern Africa, enabling safe, efficient, reliable and competitive regional trade.

This edition of the eCorridor continues to serve as a platform to showcase key developments and collaborative initiatives. It highlights the collective efforts of the WBCG and our valued stakeholders, whose dedication and innovation continue to drive trade facilitation, regional integration, and economic growth. In an increasingly dynamic global and regional landscape, the timely sharing of information and insights remains essential to strengthening resilience and sustaining progress within the logistics and transport industry.

As we move forward, the WBCG remains deeply committed to advancing socio-economic initiatives that support the transport community, particularly truck drivers and transport operators who form the backbone of corridor operations. Through targeted outreach programmes and partnerships, we continue to recognise their vital contribution to enabling seamless trade and sustaining regional supply chains.

Another cornerstone of our sustainability agenda remains the WBCG Wellness Service, which continues to play a critical role in promoting health and wellness within the transport and logistics industry. By being the only corridor management institution delivering essential and effective health and wellness services along the entire corridor network, we are nurturing a culture of wellness and resilience among transport workers and employers. These initiatives not only protect and save lives but also contribute to improved productivity, operational continuity and long-term sector sustainability.

Looking ahead, the WBCG remains steadfast in its mission to enhance Namibia’s competitiveness as the preferred trade route for Southern Africa. Strategically positioned to facilitate efficient two-way trade between the SADC region and major global markets, including Europe, the Americas, and emerging economies across Africa, Namibia continues to offer a compelling and reliable gateway for regional and international trade.

As we advance into 2026, we reaffirm our commitment to collaboration, innovation and excellence. Together with our stakeholders, we will continue to drive transformative and collaborative initiatives that strengthen corridor performance, enhance trade facilitation, and deliver lasting value for Namibia and the wider region. The WBCG will continue to deliver these services with passion and unwavering commitment to all our stakeholders.

Yours in Trade Facilitation, Transportation and Logistics.
